Holidays are fun, and when they fall during the week it’s a nice change of pace to acknowledge the occasion! Valentines Day is upon us, and unlike any other holiday this is the day of love. This may not be the time for passing around secret notes and checking “yes” or “no,” but there are still ways to (appropriately) have a little fun.
.) Send Your Significant Other A Nice Bouquet- While it’s always nice to receive, giving feels even better! Break the norm, and if you don’t typically send them flowers or chocolate- go for it! Notice that the gift here should be work appropriate…. Please withhold sending any sort of intimate or noisy/disruptive gift.
.) If One Co-Worker Gets A Valentine, They All Get A Valentine- To avoid any awkward situations with HR, today is not the day to profess your love for any co-worker. Make sure you’re inclusive with any valentines you decide to pass out. Be thoughtful, but keep the message something you wouldn’t mind your boss reading.
.) Your Boss Doesn’t Need A Valentines Gift From You- Today is not the day to give your boss any special gift. In fact, it might make them feel very uncomfortable. To prevent being accused of favoritism during review time, it’s best to give them a friendly Valentines Day Wave. Bosses: Vice versa.
.) Be Cautious of Those Around You- While some people are really excited for this day, others are less excited or even disappointed. V-Day Fanatics: Be careful of overdoing your excitement when the two-dozen roses come for you…three different times. V-Day Haters: On the other hand, know that some people really love this holiday, and try not to focus the attention on yourself.
.) Accept ALL Valentines- HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!
